Major Lag!
#1

Hello.

Over the past week, I've started lagging a lot in game. Of the 3 servers I mostly play in, I lag in all of them. If i move the camera so its facing the ground, the game runs smoothly, otherwise it lags A LOT!

I'm running the game off my laptop. Here is some info:
- SA:MP Version 0.3a
- 0 Mods
- Sony VAIO Laptop
- 2 gigs of RAM
- Intel Core 2 Duo processor
- Running Vista (32 bit)
- As for internet, I'm connected wirelessly to my own wireless. The router is upstairs
- 358MB total available graphics memory

I've used a program called "GameBooster", but that didn't seem to help.. At all!

Is there any way I can fix this problem?

  • Lower your GFX settings
  • Clean your registrty with CCleaner
  • Update your drivers
  • While playing kill any other process at Tast Manager(like Firefox,MSN etc.)
  • if it dont works I suggest downgrade to Windows XP

I'll try lowering my GFX settings.
What does CCleaner exactly do? Could it anyhow harm my computer/files?
I always close open programs such as firefox, msn, utorrent, etc.

I'll try CCleaner

And as for my ISP, its actually very good. I also did a test at speedtest.net and my results were higher than average.
Also, I tried single player and that lags as well.

I think it's a problem with CPU's with more than 1 core, San Andreas is incompatible with multi-core CPU's

I get the same problem and I've got an i5 quad core.

I fixed the problem by going into task manager and only allowing San Andreas to use 1 core, also turning the graphics to the lowest from Nvidia/Ati control panel helped aswell.

Oh seriously? How can I allow San Andreas to use only 1 core?
