Thinking to purchase the webhost + domain and hosted tab from PrestigeSteve. The prices aren't bad.

If someone had experience with this hosting company - please let me know, because I might use their services for the first time and before purchase, I just need to know if they're not scam.

I can't find any mailing addresses or company information on their website, those are major red flags to me.

Well I found out about them in one user's signature here in forums. So their host is probably new and not that official like other hosts, for example: Evolution-Host, PingPerfect etc. That are listed in sacnr.monitor host list. But thanks for the heads up, dugi.

Doesn't matter. when you create a hosting the first things that you should insert are contact informations, such as phone/email and so on.

PrestigeSteve has its own Discord server (guild?), You can contact the owner there if you ever faced problems.
Afaik they are getting their servers from OVH, and their DDoS protection is good.

You can easily get tab from another host. Get the server itself from somewhere known and trustworthy. So you don't change IP after a week.

I would personally investigate a little more. See how long the domain name has been registered and check WHOIS detail. See how responsive they are and try to contact the host.

You can also always contact a host on the SAMP forums that are active also, usually the longer they have been up, the better.

$13 for 100 slots server is really expensive, just get VPS server, for $13 you can get 2 core 4GB ram VPS.

And what would you do with the 4GB ram? It's just the same. I personally don't prefer putting all my shit in one place, so if the VPS encounters issues, the server won't be affected and vice versa. If the VPS just messes up the forums won't be down and so on. And in case of purchasing a VPS just for starting a server, I'd rather purchase a server where I get control panel and other stuff to control the server.

No, you shouldn't host you server and forum on one server, OR same provider...

LAMP on Debian 9, uses about 1gb ram.
You'r server will have plenty of resource if in need.
Host radio server for your samp server.
Admin web server controll panel.
You can run JAVA or PYTHON to manage stuff in the background. ( cachin'g, player behavior, database management )
Host multiple samp servers on one host. ( main server and dev server )
and many more.

It's about outrageous pricing and what you can get for your money using VPS. 99% of samp servers don't need 4 GB ram. ( or 100mb ram cuz they are empty haha )

Speaking from experience here, as I myself have founded and run my own very successful Web and Game Hosting Company for a number of years.

It's unfair to judge a relatively new Company only on the website they have, yes it's there to provide an initial representation of the Company, and yes having a custom site is ideal and arguably more professional, but let's be realistic here guys - Prestige Steve's website does what a Hosting Companies should, it gives you the USP', Prices, Services on offer and the like at a glance. You'll find that arguably the long-term market leader for 'Premium' Game Server Hosting also uses a very common template for their Website; Crident.

I have myself used Prestige Steve's services, due to incredible demand I worked with the founder on a more personal and direct level reselling his SAMP services to my Customers, and I can honestly say we didn't have any issues - Although should we have I have no doubt in my mind that he'd have been more than happy and able to assist.

As long as the Company continues to grow, expand and develop it's services it's harsh of you to criticise it, the long and short of it are can you trust them, is it good value for money, and are they the right company for you - Only you as the potential customer can answer those questions for yourself by giving them a chance, don't base your decision on well theoretical bullshit. (No one here's even mentioned the benefits of dockerisation, containers, sso, nor have they seemingly considered the work and overhead that goes into providing such a service - Comparing a Hosting Companies services to running a server on a VPS is simply ridiculous.)

We've been up for almost a year.

I intend to register Prestige Steve as a company shortly. I know it's one of the first things I should've done, although I've never got around to it. I run Prestige Steve as a hobby at the moment. As highlighted in responses in this topic, there is a lot of room for improvement (e.g.- html files etc). I will consider changes.

In regards to the original post, we don't sell domains. My recommendation on buying a domain would be from namecheap.com. The hosting companies main focus is on game hosting, specifically in SA-MP, as this is where I specialise in (I've had SA-MP servers/ communities of my own, scripted etc). I'm just happy providing a service.
