Portforwarding
#1

Hello all,
I have a question about portforwarding.
So i have an open port; port 80 which works just fine.
Now i did try to open port 7777, this however gives me some trouble.

http://canyouseeme.org/ shown me that 80 is open and 7777 is not.
However, people are still able to connect to the IP, like as if the port is open.
After a while, they get kicked due to lost connection.

Have i done something wrong?
Settings:
IP Address Start Port End Port IP Address Start Port End Port Prot Description Enabled
192.168.178.10 7777 7777 0.0.0.0 7777 7777 BOTH Yes

What is causing this? and am i right to set protocol to BOTH?
any help appreciated.

This is how port 80 is forwarded and its working fine.

IP Address Start Port End Port IP Address Start Port End Port Prot Description Enabled
192.168.178.12 80 80 0.0.0.0 80 80 TCP Yes

If you're on wifi, on the machine to host the server, you're dreaming.

Check your modem connection speed, as that could have something to do with it. (Use speedtest.net)

You also only need to use UDP for the port.

Thanks for your response.

So my settings on portforward are correct?
I do not use WIFI i am using a servercomputer with an internet cable.

I did run a speedtest on the site you gave me and i have about 140 mbps.

Код:
 PING
33
ms
 DOWNLOAD
140.54
Mbps
 UPLOAD
25.80
Mbps
Also the server displays fine on this website:
http://monitor.sacnr.com/checker.htm...62.194.69:7777

When i go to http://canyouseeme.org/, it tells me the following:
Error: I could not see your service on 217.62.194.69 on port (7777)
Reason: Connection timed out

But players are still able to connect.

The same site canyouseeme also tells me that port 80 is open.
I wonder whats going wrong.

Of course it can, its a big server computer i used for my company before it went bankrupt.
It used to host many different systems at once; website, hrm, wms, email etc..
and also the website is working perfect without trouble.(port80)

There must be something wrong with my settings or something else but what?

I'm meaning on your connection. If it's a server, chances are it doesn't need portforwarding, you need to configure the firewall. Firewall is usually open in its default state, unless you configure to block ports.

That site is highly likely to be checking TCP connections, not UDP that SAMP uses.

if you use a localhost, try to use hamachi instead of your IP and see if players disconnect too .

I did run a check for UDP ports and it says its open, so that is not the issue.

So this is basically what happens: After a moment of time the server looses its connection, nobody can connect.
The server is still running at that moment. I need to restart the server and then people can join again.

What could cause this?

Generally, if it becomes non-responsive, this can be a timer/infinite loop, or something along this line. Especially if it lasts for a few hours or so, and then has a problem later on.

Hamachi is pointless.
