Pawno is your best bet, SA-MP Editor has problems with its memory usage, it goes from 34MB to 3MB. If you must, just use something like cakePawn or PawnSciTE.

Pawno is great. My only beef with it is that sometimes when you copy and paste large amounts of text/code appears to be all messed up and you have to select it to make it look normal. And the indenting is sometimes a little f***'d.
