I've always thought is the pickup limit for the player or the server?

I mean, is the limit like the player cannot see more than 400 pickups at a time, but the server can hold more than that? Or if I create over 400 pickups the server will crash no matter if the pickups are visible for players or not?

I know I would find this out by testing it, but I decided to ask first just incase someone else has tried it out already.
