Is there anyone here who is able to configure a DNS for a VPS running on CentOS?

You need to do this with any domain you have, free or not.

In your Domain control panel, add a A record with your VPS IP Address, then in VPS Control Panel (if your provider support it) reverse the IP Address to the domain or subdomain you added in your DNS. Wait few hours (sometimes instant) and check if works. Note, remove the IP from the client before adding the domain one.

The problem is, how it "didn't work". Explain what you did and failed.

Does your domain name come with DNS hosting? Where did you buy your domain from?

Domain name and VPS are bought from two different companies.
