I've saw it on some other forum where you can tag users in threads.

So if I did this:

@fakename - Can you give this dude a quote please.

It would appear to the user with the username as 'fakename'. Just like a PM so it would appear he has an alert:

Basically it notifies them that they have been mentioned.



What do you think?

I have been going around forums asking this numerous times to do this. Once more, I do support this! (I doubt it btesters would implement it)

It sounds good, but what if trolls start tagging random people for no reason?

Otherwise, it's a good idea! It's hard to respond to threads sometimes when you aren't formally notified of a response. Especially with large forums like this one.

While I agree with ****** about the social networking aspect of the idea, I personally think it could prove to be beneficial here on the forums.

I like the idea but I just don't think it's practical on this particular forum, given the maturity level of most of the community.

Although I like this idea, I imagine all the kids tagging other members with no point (ex: dugi, ******, D0erfler, and almost every beta/mod will be spamed with this feature), that's why I don't support this.
