Hi all!

With my soon-to-be community's site, I've always went back and forth between having some sort of homepage//portal, and just having a forum on its own. Now I've re-introduced the homepage, but with a very lightweight blog system implemented in. It would be used for various things, covered in the screenshot below.

I'm not the most experienced in web languages, but this is what I have up so far. (No spoiler tags? >.<, anyway, a picture rather than a link helps save bandwidth)

A note: the choice of blue deals with our forum's theme.

I'm looking for any general feedback, criticism, and maybe ideas on what I could use to fill up all the empty space? If you stumbled upon it, would you be impressed, or would you hate it?

Updated! I've done quite a few things. New link. I'm working on different font style combinations now to see what I can come up with, working on that bold :P As for graphics, those aren't really my thing.

So far:
-Removed search bar
-Extended width of the content boxes
-The yellow tags on posts now overlap onto the posts
-Removed the top navigation bar
-Changed the awkward info box and face picture on the right to a navigational pane
-Added a ******* feed on the sidebar, below navigation pane

It does look a lot like a Wordpress theme but it's really nice, good work!

That surely can't be all bad. What would you suggest to steer away from the 'tumblr/wordpress' type?

Looks like a DreamWeaver template. I don't know what to think of it. Maybe it's the font or the colors, but I don't quite like the overall look of it. Use less bold text.

Looks good! I will recommend you to not use bold fonts and to make the website look more smooth with graphics and an extra color (not more than 3).
