I'm not forbidding anyone, the problem is that too many people create servers, waste their cash on it and then shut it down within a month. Besides, they don't get a good reputation if they call themself "The best roleplay server" and when you come in-game there's DM all over the place. You don't get this topic apparently.

AFAIK nearly everybody here makes an RP server and tries to get on other servers and advertise saying "Join 127.0.0.1:7777, best RP server evar" and then they never succeed... Why not do something original like a Missions server or something, you never see a lot of those around.

To my understanding everybody posts in their advertisements saying "Free Admin, Business and Money to every player who joins in the next 5 seconds."

I'm actually scripting a roleplaying server, despite the fact that most people get pissed off when they hear about more roleplaying servers. I'm doing it for me, my friend Jarron, my brother and everyone else who would want to play on it, just for fun. I won't get upset if I don't get over 10 players and I won't make anyone admin just to keep them on my server. If they can't play on a server without being admins SA-MP isn't the best place for them to be.

I take my "project" seriously and won't close it down because someone tells me to, I'm not making it for the people who are against me. I'm making my own server because I have never seen a server which has a gamemode with anything near my ideas. I think it could truly become a "unique server", and I'm not saying that in the way that the most roleplaying server owners do, I don't think my server will be unique if I run a "GF edit" with changed text colors. My server was made from the "new.pwn" file and I am the only one who has seen the script who actually understands PAWN.

My basic idea of how to get players in the beginning of an empty unknown server is to have missions and fun things to do even when nobody else or only a few people is online. Other things I always keep in mind is to have fun, be serious, be nice to the players (but not giving anyone advantages (including actual administrators and testers)). Currently we are two administrators and one tester, that's all that is needed on a server that is in development.

Make sure you know where the Advertisement Section is before opening a server as well.

He's no asking them to close the server, He is asking them to open only and if they have themselves got enough experience within roleplay and other things. I would suggest roleplaying first in big communities like LSRP, RCRP, vGRP or anyother server like that so that they can learn what really roleplay is? Roleplay does not only means to know how to use /me.. Its the way how you develop your character.. So better learn it, Get a good staff and you'll surely get good player base..

Tell them, This is not how it works.. Apply for Helper on forums first.. Announce the result after 5-10 days of the application.. they will stay for that long and then other peoples will see the players in your server so they will also come and play.. Not always players ask for an admin, Make sure you take brave decision.. You'll have to make it strict roleplay server.. This is how it works, Atleast according to me.

I also want to own one server but certainly I dont have enough resources.. I have great Ideas about managing the server.. just waiting for a chance..

Hudgens, I completely understand where you're coming from. I've never ever led a server, and I probably won't in the near future. Despite this, it irritates me when I see a new roleplay server, enter it out of mere curiosity, and it's absolutely diabolical. The owner can hardly speak English, they offer refunds from other servers; the unprofessionalism astounds me. If you're going to try and make a community, you need to be professional and not act like a... you'll have to come back to me for a last word for that sentence.

I'm in the mist of making my server now. Everyone deserves a chance. What I am against, if someone downloading LA-RP or some generic RP script, barley editing it and then running it.

One of the things that irritates me most is when they half-assedly set up a shitty server and not only can they not take criticism but they just leave the server on its own and expect it to boom to popularity by itself. It doesn't work like that. I wish more server owners would actually push to get players, make events, improve their script, establish a community and so forth.
