When you go into GTA Options and turn the Radio slider to zero, does this tell your client to stop the connection to the audio stream, or does it just mute the stream and keep downloading it?

Stop the connection to the audio stream, since the audio stream messages doesn't appears.

Can anyone else also confirm/deny this? I'm trying to make a point to some people.

why don't you try it? start the stream with your sound muted then pause the game and turn up the sound and if it doesn't play, then it doesn't connect to the stream. I haven't tested it but i would think it doesn't connect to the stream because the audio msg doesn't show

Does not stop it. Only mutes it.

If your streaming and then mute it, I'm not sure, but if you have it muted before you start, it wont stream, so getting out or the car or reconnecting will surely fix it.

I can proof that its STOP. See the image below, I tried to listen some audio stream before increase the volume and my connection was not used.
