Hi everyone,
i own a rp server and we've been under an annoying attack since like 3 months, so how could i can stop it? or its possible to the sa-mp team to protect us agains suchs attacks?
Description of the mentionated attack:
- The name of the server wont be shown, instead u can see (retrieving info)
- Query information like players/max_players wont be shown.
- Information like Mode and Map wont be shown, the only thing shown is the current ping.
This is killing my server and its really annoying this dont cause lag or anything like that just make looks the server like it was closed.

I would suggest moving to Volt-Host just saying it stops alot of these attacks.
There's nothing you can really actually do yourself unless your host has cisco guard or something along those lines.

There is nothing you can do to stop such attacks yourself, you will need to contact your host. If he or she is not willing to help, than there isn't much else you can do.
At JJ's Hosting we would attempt to locate the individual or group of individuals inciting the attack, we would then move to contact their internet providers (If they are in the USA or a modernized country). That is our policy.
You should try to "drop" the ip of the attacker, with gamecp is possible, but on your current one i don't know, but try to range ban that ip.

Do you guys know what a DDoS is? Lol?
First off if it's a DDoS it's multiple ips most likely a shell booter seeing as half the kids on sa-mp wouldn't be smart enough to create a botnet and manage it right. You'd need to collect each IP that is attacking you and you'll need to block those ips from accessing your server which is sorta difficult. It also matters on what sort of attack it is, it's all very complicated.
Just get a host with Cisco Guard, those are some of the best hosts out there.

Switch the host to volt-host and if you get attacked on volt host then ask them to set up iptables.
OR
Get a VPS and set up your own iptables .

If you are being attacked via perl [ Botnets]
Your pretty much screwed to fuck, with any host you choose.
Volt can't withstand over 15,000 bytes of attacks.. Botnets attack with over 20k depending on their power
Anyway
IPTABLES is your only solution.
Either that or.. Well.. Keep getting DDOSeD?
Had the same happen to me.
PM me if u cant get it to work .. i'll help =]
