Meh I would never buy a VW anyway.
I own a Nissan 200SX from back when Nissan was still Nissan without the Renault shit and design they add to them nowadays.
The only german cars I would ever buy are older Mercedeses or if I can afford it a Porsche which is probably never going to happen...

Well yea, I think that some vehicle manufacturers have been making worse parts over the years. I really like Volkswagen, the old ones that is. I have one my self, a Golf GL Syncro year 1998. I like it for it's relieability. It's driven 180.000 km and still has it's original engine, clutch, gearbox... But yea, back to the point. When I was working with repairing cars, I was working at a garage that specilized in VW, Skoda and Audi(Learned that those car makers are really identical in spare parts, for example, Audi TT has some parts that are the same as in the new VW Beetle xD) and it seemed to me that after 1998 VW was making cars that seemed to break more then the old ones, especially the Golf. I noticed that Golf owners were having more trouble with the clutch and the gearbox as they seemed to be breaking a lot in the 1999+ ones. And I came to the conclusion that VW, and I guess some other car manufacturers have been making some cars that are meant to break, so they can sell more spare parts for them. Hah, I guess you think I'm quite crazy to think that way, that it's a conspiracy theory, but this is just my opinion.
But yea, I like Ford and Volkswagen. And the Mustang is my favorite(Use to have one, hope to get one again some day).
And yea, I noticed some saying that Volkswagen is a fail. I respect your opinion. And yea, I guess they are in some ways. For example making the Bugatti Veyron(VW bought the rights to Bugatti name in 1998 and made the Veyron), which is just some car that has been put the most work in making of all cars ever made. Handbuilt, 1001 metric horsepower, 16 cylinder engine which is a W engine and in my opinion quite an impressive engineering work, does 0-100 km in 2.46 seconds, has a top speed 407 km/h and I think I could go on for ever... Well, I guess it's an fail...
