I've been seeing alot of newbs, or should i say "less experienced" player's asking for vBulletin.

By the way they even type, i don't even think half of them understand what it actually is.



Do noobs now think getting vBulletin makes their server insta-awesome and fill with players instantly?

its a forum not a server or noting related to SA-MP those who think there community is going to get big by just using vBulletin are just idiots.

The only thing that will get you a lot of players is having a good script, without having a good script 99% of players wouldn't even consider checking out your 'vBulletin' forums.

Having a good forum is a plus for any samp server, but if the script is nothing special - then it's a waste of a good forum.

Personally i think vbulletin is a crap and there is many better forum software's that are way better than a vBulletin

On-topic: Most of them folks use illegal software. If you really care that much about your forums, at least buy it. Other than that, I dislike the search function.

None of you know what you are talking about. No one said your server will get more players with vBulletin, but it does maintain a good status. vBulletin itself is by far the greatest forum software, regardless of what you think, it is the best and I'm not going by opinions, I'm going by statistics. vBulletin offer WAY more features than any other management software. Those of you that are saying phpBB this and that, it has to be by far the worst in my opinion. SMF and MyBB themselves offer more features than that simple thing you call a forum. Those of you which dislike vBulletin, can't afford it. Simple as that. If it was free, you would be wrapped around it.

vBulletin > MyBB > SMF > Other Forum Softwares > phpBB

I could name about five servers right now that have a good script with currently 0-1 player(s) online.

Anyway, you don't need a vBulletin forum. It might get handy for a community (like SA-MP) with thousands of members, but a vBulletin forum with less than 20 members is considered a waste of money. There's a server with over 300+ players online, what do they use? phpBB. Who gives a fuck about what forum you have? Enjoy what you have.

Yeah, lol.
No one cares about the forum software you are using.
A successful SA:MP server needs unique script, a good host and patience. If your server is laggy or isn't up 24/7, you are going nowhere.
You obviously can't expect to have a higher player average than 4-5 in the first few months.
As well, don't forget advertising.
Making cool videos and especially a professionally edited trailer would help a lot.

Months for 4-5 players?

In one of my first servers, the first week had atleast 20.

But that was years ago, i suppose it's all changed now.

MyBB is my personal best, Vbulletin is way too expensive and takes up lot of resource and you need a dedicated to handle it quite fast, Mybb has almost same features are Vbulletin and easy to set up tabs

Calculate yourself the average of players per server.
You will be able to pass that average if your server is unique and players stick to it.

Well that's why i have a plan:

• What happens if i release my server right now ?

Simple, it has 0 players online - i doubt no-one will join a server which is empty and never heard of before

My solution:

• Build a community, delay server release and take feedback

So far, it's working for myself and the interested gamers. (Atleast, i think it is.)


Plus, my current server won't have hosted list until it's got ATLEAST 10 players. Anything under that is just a waste (imo).

The softwares listed were just my personal opinion, I don't like IPB nor xenForo. The topic was insisted about vBulletin, I simply gave a statement on what was the 'general discussion' about phpBB and what-not. Plus I'm not 'acting' like I would know anything, I'm just stating that if you were to hand over to someone a vBulletin license and if they were to use other free forum softwares they would immediatley switch.

I don't really care how the webpage looks as long as it's not filled with ridiculous music players and such. I still prefer phpBB

Most kiddies these days using vBulletin are using nulled, illegal versions..

Wonder how mad their mommies would be when they get in legal trouble..
