Lately I've been looking for a good game to play, but no matter what I try, I get bored with it.
I own games like Prototype, AOEIII, Kane and Lynch, Oblivion, Fallout 3, BF2, Crysis, Saints Row 2, and more...
...but they all seem... boring.
It's like your only goal in games is to go and kill something for no apparent reason. While doing this, you come to the conclusion they you'll either die, or get to kill something else. Not only that, but there is little or NO benefit to beating the game, depending on the game. Some build logic, some help reaction time, but otherwise, you play a game for a week, finish it, and look back at that week you could have spent doing something useful. Instead, you have a disk that you may use once a year, and some memory on your pc containing a useless accomplishment known as a savegame. In two years time or more, that save-game won't matter and the disk would probably be lost.
In the end, though, games seem to be boring. They are the same thing over and over... kill stuff, or try to beat something.
The only games that seem NOT to be boring are online games. But these are only fun if you know someone in the server your playing on.
One of the main problems with online games is that they are even more repetitive than single-player games. The only difference is humans choose what happens in real-time.
Anyone else feel the same way?
Has anyone found a game other than SA:MP that quenches their thirst for some decent gaming?
Also, what do you think would make the ultimate game?
My ultimate game would have endless possibilities(destroyable environments, drivable/destructible vehicles, customizable weapons, global dynamic objects, etc.) and be ONLINE. Other than that... I'm not sure what else would be in it.
Thanks in advance,
Matrix
