Getting a new computer...
#1

I'm looking for a new desktop that's fast and can play newer games. Maybe not like able to play crysis although that would be nice. But if it could play COD4 I'd be happy. I don't know anything about computers and don't want to build one because I'd probably mess up. I want one that comes with an OS so I don't have to buy one. So what's the best computer I can get like this for under $1000? I'm asking those of you who know about this stuff. :P (Maybe I can go over 1k though)

You should seriously consider learning to build your own. It's really not that difficult and you could really save some money or get much better PC for the same price.
www.newegg.com and www.tigerdirect.com have some OK deals.
CoD4 isn't really a demanding game so it shouldn't be hard to find a sub $1000 PC that can handle it at highest settings. (9800GTX+ would be fine)

Yeah as for graphics cards, I wanted to get a 9800. I was looking at gaming computer deals on tiger direct earlier but I don't know about motherboards or processors. I guess that's what I need help with. What about this?

Cool. It looks good to me as far as I know. What about monitors though? What would be a good contrast ratio / resolution for this kinda computer?

Here are a few monitors that seem to be good at first glance:

If you want a really good gaming monitor and have $400 to spend then get this one:

It has a 120Hz refresh rate.
