Player name lenght > 16 characters

How come on some servers you can join with name that contains more than 16 characters? Is there an function or way to do that? Is it maybe because of saving system? SQL/File

I think that once ingame you can set a name up to 32 chars long with SetPlayerName(playerid, name[]), but I'm not 100% sure about that

SetPlayerName has nothing to do with what I'm asking xD

The longer lenght that you are available to get a server is 16. But you can change the player name while being in-game for example to maximum 24 lenght..
You can't see a player logs in with a longer name than 16 characters.
