Hello everyone here, I'm not making this title for attracting you firstly.
What about upgrading? I mean SA-MP is using vBulletin forums which is highly paid, vBulletin is giving access to all of their customers to upgrade their forums from the Admin CP, vBulletin now have 5.4.12 version, our version is 3.8.6 so if beta testers access Admin CP they can upgrade it
PS: Upgrading won't reset forums database.

Probably because the forums are fine the way they are.

What's wrong with the current version?

The current version doesn't have any security vulnerabilities and it is stable, why to risk a new version which may have vulnerabilities, and out of the security part, the current version doesn't have anything less than the newer versions other than several changes which won't make any major effect to the functionality of the forums.

Afaik buying a vbulletin license does not include all future branch updates. Youll have to pay extra to use VB4 or VB5. And why pay to update something that works well enough in its current state?

VB5 Really Sucks because of its bugs and less support. The current forum is way better and there is no need to upgrade as long as it's working fine but a WYSIWYG Editor will be apreciated.

Wasn't W98 only background processing improvements?

I personally don't care, it already serves its purpose. Updates are always good however, despite issues that may arise (and that's why you need a team to test things from the top to bottom).
Leave this up to the mods, don't bother. Looks like you did put effort in not trying to brag about you possibly having the newest version.

The problem with sticking to the old, however, is that you don't know what you're missing. Unless that's your thing.
I actually just noticed that IPS 4.2 automatically embeds a social media widget if you paste a link in the editor which is neat and nifty. Pasting a YouTube link automatically embeds a video player, pasting a ******* link inserts the Tweet into the post, posting a ******** or Reddit link embeds the post into post, and so on and so forth.

Mods should consider upgrading, new version may have some better censorship options

I mean yes okay updates are always awesome and cool but samp is old mod + the forums never changed so people are used to it + I bet Kalcor dont want to hassle with the new updates which could cause errors.

There's a bigger chance to
revive negative reputations than a forum upgrade.
I wouldn't bother to do it as well, for what?

People keep suggesting stuff for the forum like its been updated frequently since 2006.
If there was a real need for it in these 10 years, it would have already been done, meanwhile the only beauty we get to enjoy is censorship like in China.

The only reason I'd like the forums to update is because words don't wrap and I hate seeing long ass lines of words. Isn't really needed though to be honest.

The latest VB versions are honestly terrible, we're not going to do any changes related to new forum version any time soon.
