Well as some of you may have heard mojang is now blacklisting minecraft servers that sell pay 2 win items/perks. So just wondering what would happen if samp did the same thing? would all the big servers die and would it spread the playerbase out or would samp just die

I understand blacklisting a server that is hurting the developer's economy.
Yet SA-MP doesn't work the same way. Kalcor doesn't take money from server owners or players.
So we can't really hurt his economy. Rockstar doesn't nose around either, as the original game doesn't have a multiplayer component.
SA-MP servers are already being blacklisted for reasons like running stolen scripts, but SA-MP doesn't seem to be dying.
Getting back to my main point, SA-MP and Minecraft are not in any way similar.
The idea of big servers being blacklisted for the greed of a small group of people is just stupid.

If the servers already have a stable community, this really won't change anything.

That's not why it is at all. It's only a factor in GTA V because the EULA was updated to cover their asset.

If that ever happens (which is highly unlikely of happening), in my opinion, servers using released gamemodes should also be blacklisted or kept off of the hosted tab.
In brief, it isn't going to happen. So don't get your hopes down or worry about it.

It is already happening, but not in any way similar to that situation.
Currently it seems that hacks allowed servers and the such are blacklisted somehow. I'm not sure if this is true or not by the way, in fact I doubted it before but now it seems pretty plausible. They disappear basically instantly after being discovered on the internet list (which we don't have at the moment).

Servers cost money and that money has to come from somewhere. I don't mind this as long as all content is otherwise accessible at a reasonable price and/or within a reasonable time frame. Unlike Rockstar, where everything in GTA Online costs a fuck ton of money and every two weeks better stuff gets added that costs even more.
