Is it possible? My server's host is currently down, so I host the server on my computer @ home when I want to play around on it with my friend, but I have to connect the host computer to the modem via ethernet for the port forwarding to work?

Is it possible to even port forward over wifi?

Yea, port forwarding over Wi-Fi is just the same as being connected. The only thing different is being connected Wireless compared to with a Cable.

You can easily set it up the same way.
