My friends SAMP crashes on load up.
Everythign was fine until he updated to 0.3.7

Tell your friend to uninstall his SA-MP client 0.3z then re install the 0.3.7 I can see many people got some problems with this.

Tried that. It now just stops responding..

Re download your GTA-SA folder if you have an extra GTA - SA files in your flashdrive or hard disk then try to install the 0.3.7
