Reinstall Windows. Something you should do once every year. Makes you think about what you really need and what can be considered junk.

If you have no idea with computers you should actually not go with Microsoft Windows. Otherwise you will be a victim of the government, secret services, hackers, script-kiddies and much more shit.
Linux on the other hand never gets infected, is easy to maintain and takes care of your computers hardware and your privacy.

Virus protection is a joke, it prevents less than 40% of attacks on average, and what it does detect are gameservers or apps made by you. A virus checker will scan for certain files in your system, run a disk clean and optimize/defragment your harddrives.
So, here's a few rules of thumb:
Don't download any foreign programs, or from websites you do not know.
If you get adware, it almost always tells you the name of the program, mostly in extensions etc. ****** instructions on how to remove it.
If someone sends you a random .exe, it's probably a trojan, do not download it. You will not just get random keyloggers/rats, you actually download them.
Install AdBlock so you dont click onthe "Download" ad instead of the physical download
About once a month, run disk cleanup, and if you have a mechanical hard drive, do a disk defragment. (If you have windows 7 or greater and an SSD, run it as well because it will optimize the drive)
As for removing it, if you cannot find it, format your computer. Keep any important documents in dropbox, and a list of the programs you use all the time with a link to download them. This way, you can easily retrieve your data. But chances are, if your computer is slow, you need to do a defrag, and disk clean. Older computers will always be slower due to their lack of power with modern programs. Chrome is an example of this.

Buy an Anti-Virus.
Kaspersky or ESET nod32 are my suggestions.

I don't understand how all you guys get viruses. I'm just here thinking of how stupid you guys are downloading FREE coin generators and samp haxxx.
Literally it's common sense I haven't used an anti virus since 2010. You need a browser such as Firefox, not Chrome because many programs install their adware on Chrome. Once you got Firefox use a good adblocker such as uBlock.

Try malware bytes all my family use it and they don't have any virus popup!
Also i would not suggest other anti-malware program cause, i've seen in a tech article that most people suggest malware bytes. ^^

I recommend kaspersky antivirus, I've been using it for over 5 years without problems. If you can afford it, you can get kaspersky internet security which is a fine total protection against "unwanted" and harmful tools on your computer. Also, malware bytes is another option to get rid of those malware. Good luck! ^_^

As other people said run Malwarebytes and if you cannot afford or do not want to pay for antivirus at least get free Avast antivirus. Try to uninstall unwanted programs from control panel sometimes those programs make computer slow. If you cannot get rid of virus try to system restore to an earlier point.
