San Andreas won't launch
#1

I'm running San Andreas from my desktop's game directory. I copied it over from my desktop.

This is a Macbook Pro running Windows 7 via Bootcamp. I can get into SAMP 0.3z fine, it will not load San Andreas period. I've looked in my documents in the GTA San Andreas User Files. I do not have gta_sa.set.

I've deleted the User Files folder and it does nothing.

Can anyone please help? If I mash the connect button I get a buttload of exception errors. The code is: 0x00746929

Thanks!!!

Do you have DX9 on your Win7 BootCamp. As most people install SA from a RAR file.

Does it load San Andreas single player (if we can fix this, as I doubt it does. SAMP will also be fixed).

I remember downloading DirectX last night, but it said something about it being for Web. That might be the problem, worst case scenario I'm sure it's the DirectX. The singleplayer does NOT launch, so that's what makes me think it's an absolute directX problem.

Yeah, in which case it's indefinitely DirectX. Once you have that installed bump this thread or PM me if you have other issues.

I downloaded my GTA:SA from this link (it's a torrent), it's a 396mb installer that installs gta sa, that is ONLY designed for SA-MP (there will be no story mode, or single player.) so basically you can play on sa-mp servers all you want.

here's the link: (pm me for the link, can't post on forums!)

Instructions:

1. Download the latest uTorrent client.
2. Install it and download the torrent file which is from the link I'll be giving you.
3. Open the link and then select your preferences (where you wanna download it etc.)
4. wait for a few minutes, depends totally on your internet speed. (it's almost 400mb so it'll download quick)
5. once the download is complete, open the folder where you downloaded the setup, and run it.
6. wait for the setup to finish installing
7. download the latest version of SA-MP
8. install it where the setup extracted the game files
9. Voila! you can play SA-MP

PS: I hope this works for you, I know how frustrated you are. I had the same problem as you, that's why I'm helping you out
