Who can solve for "x" the fastest?

3(x+2) = 9

Ofcourse this one is easy, so feel free to give your own aswell.

3x+6=9
3x=6+9
3/3x=15/3
x = 5

(I suck at math, don't pay attention to this. It's wrong. This forum is not for math help, you can go ask your teacher btw )

I'd expect that it'll be expand the equation before the equals, and then solve it by moving everything over so:

3x+6=9 (once expanded)

3x = 9-6 (moved over)

x = 3/3

x = 1

LOL... I'm not asking for math help. I just want to see how people solve for x... In my mind I just think that the x +2 must equal 3 so it's be 3x3 which would equal 9. How-ever, you can't do this for every equation.

Thats a thing I dont even solve but just see.
Anyone older than 12 who cant solve this correctly should probably be worried about his future in maths.

When reading the title I was hoping for some more spaced stuff.
Heres your level 2:
Who can solve this for x the fastest?

1.4x^5 - 0.3x^4 - x^3 + 17x - 1 = 0

First one to explain a possible way to solve this gets a friendly rep.
(Hint: solution dont need to be 100% exact, but exact enough, fast enough, and shouldnt require computers)

My thoughts exactly. I'm no maths genius but if the OP is old enough to be playing SA-MP and posting coherent sentences on the SA-MP forum, yet cannot solve this simple equation on their own, then I think they should talk to their teacher about moving into a lower-level class.

Isolate the 1.4x^5 - 0.3x^4 - x^3 by subtracting 17x - 1.

Cube root, combine like terms outside the radical, then divide by the radical.

Multiply x10 since the only term outside the radical is .1x

Stumped on this.
