I cannot for the life of me find any decent forums related to TVs so I thought I might aswell ask here.
This is more of a question for people living in the UK as I don't think this would happen anywhere else.
I recently bought a TV which had Freeview HD built-in, which makes it my first TV that is able to receive HD channels.
After a while, I started noticing some flashing on HD channels, and couldn't work out why it was happening, until today, when I found out that it is caused by my TV switching between 1080i and 1080p formats while viewing Freeview HD channels.
You can read about the switching here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/researcha...bc-hd-on.shtml
After a bit of googling, I found out that Sony TVs used to have this problem, except the audio would drop instead of the image going weird for a few milliseconds. That was fixed by a firmware update, and I tried that already, I'm on latest Samsung firmware and I still can see the flashing. I wondered if anyone has experienced this and knows a way to fix it, this can really ruin the experience when you see a random flash every 10/20 seconds.
I'd have expected this to be fixed by now, as every single ****** result I found, and the blog post above, is dated 2011. It's now 2014, and my TV was made sometime in 2013.

TV: Samsung UE32F5300
Thanks.
Feel free to delete if you don't feel this belongs.
