Heavy Server load due to many cars/players
#1

Hello,

our server has about 100 players each day and therefore we have a huge problem. Everything is fine until there is an area where a big bunch of players and cars come together. The result is a heavy server load due to this. It is stressed with simple commands and actions are only performed some seconds after the command got posted.

Another problem is, that many players become the so called "SAMP-Bug" as a result of the server load. Our server has enough power, though, it gets overloaded in such situations.

I actually don't know if this problem appeared through a server move to a different hoster (but with equal hardware) or after the server update to 0.3X-R2.

Our Script doesn't care about Vehicle-Streaming-specific callbacks, so i really don't have any idea. The profiler plugin also doesn't show anything abnormal, because the most average loading functions are called every time without any relation to players/cars streamed at the same area.

Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Either get a more powerful server (hardware) or update your script to make better use of a streamer.

What do you mean by "better use of a streamer", we use Incognito's Streamer plugin to stream objects and create dynamic zones, but i actually have no idea how to use the streamer for this problem.

I think the server is powerful enough to manage such situations (e.g. CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1245v2).

Improve your loops & timers. How much ram do you use?

32GB...in which manner should general loops (for all players) affect more load when many players/cars are streamed at one place?

If your server uses 32GB RAM, my guess would be that there is something seriously wrong with your script. Consider reading topics for optimizing your script.
