My story with Yodel... The Courier
#1

So I have bought myself a Sony Xperia U from Carphone Warehouse ((United Kingdom)) after left over from my payday which I had to pay my bills, and so I bought it online to be delivered next day which is Saturday on 4th and bought on 3rd, as I had two days off from Friday to Saturday. Saturday came, which the delivery suppose to arrive, checked my tracker on Yodel the Courier Carphone Warehouse uses to deliver and here is a interesting story:

As on Saturday I was home all the day, woke up at 10 and on 11:33 the parcel was with the driver as checked on tracker, was excited can say... Many Many hours later 17:36 my parcel was no where to be found later on checked the tracker and seen this:

So I though, well maybe some problem with a vehicle but later on time has ticked and 21:33 "RETURNED TO LOCAL SERVICE CENTRE" now let me know you that the "Delivery Attempted" never happened, I was siting in my room without any loud music as for excuse "I didnt hear anything", not a knock on the door nor even a ring on a bell, call card? I wish to find it... Not even a car/van passed by the street, I live on very quiet road where a car rarely passes by...

On time 21:33 parcel was send back to the depo for no reason, as 11 PM arrived I checked my tracker again seeing that invisible delivery was attempted...

Yodel is known for its shit reputation, if you search Yodel UK on ******* you will see multiple videos of their workers throwing parcels, yap when watched that I imminently went outside to check my garden but there was nothing there...
Allow me to let you know lads in the land of tea and scones... Stand way away from Yodel...

Oh and just as stuff couldnt get funnier... Read this news about Yodel in my town..

And here is a interesting video made by BBC last year about Yodel

Maybe they thought a different house was yours, ever think of that?

Your situation sucks and all, but like, why don't you contact them and find out what happened instead of jumping to conclusions and posting on a forum where the majority of the users are not from the UK and therefore do not care about this company? :/

I'm not stupid enough to believe in that, none of my neighbours had my parcel.
I do wonder however... Do you maybe think before you post? It surely is not about caring about the company, nor am I telling you to care about it if your in a different country, its about sharing a story...

Watch the video from BBC site and you will understand where Im coming from, it aint no ordinary courier, I do not need to find out what happened because I already know what happened...

I didn't say that one of your neighbours has your parcel. I said that maybe the delivery was attempted to the wrong address, at which no one was home, which then lead to the events you described.

Your thread isn't about "sharing a story", it's about diminishing the reputation of this "Yodel" company, otherwise you wouldn't have bothered finding and linking us to articles about them and then telling us to stay away from them.

Again, your situation sucks, but you should actually try to get to the bottom of it before you jump to conclusions and rage over what could potentially be a big misunderstanding.

Once again, read and watch the link I've added in... Their reputation is diminished already

This reminds me of my local taxi company. Haha. By the way, was it bought through ebay or their own site? It's a shame that you can't change the courrier.

I was about to take advantage of one of Carphone Warehouse's web exclusive deals, but after seeing this and a bit of research I am not sure I want to..

That's a shame. Good luck with getting your phone.

This sounds as bad as the time that Qantas lost and damaged my bag.

I've had around the same problem with CityLink (More like ShittyLink). I've never had a problem with Yodel. I've spent hours and hours investigating this stuff. Even if the driver hasn't finished all his deliveries he is called back to the depot. They have a special time they are supposed to be back, even if they haven't delivered them all they go back. It's to prevent paying overtime. Sometimes they don't even bother going to the house and just say this person was out or the package was marked unclearly. If this situation is like what I had to deal with with ShittyLink then prepare to wait 5 days.
