For anyone using ASUS laptops.
#1

Recently I was away for a weekend and a friend stayed at my flat, he forgot to lock the door for night. Someone simply walked in, took some stuff including my ASUS laptop which had alot of my personal stuff on it(the information on it is more valuable than the laptop itself) and walked away. I did ask some people if anyone knows anything regarding this but well im in a point right now where I gave up looking for it.

Now to the point of this topic, if you own an ASUS laptop I strongly advise to install this: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Featur...Theft_Solution . I didn't really think about this before mine got stolen but meh, ignorance got me.

P.S yeah I even contacted police, they came here, took DNA tests and asked me to drive to station to file a complaint(or whatever it's called in english). As we all know they will never find it anyway.

Sorry for you dude, it always sucks to get robbed even more if you had personal data on it. The best solution for that is offsite backups (look for cloud storage), because your anti-theft will maybe help you if someone steals your laptop, but what in case of fire or any other accident ?

Yeah, well, laptop was acting as my backup place. Recently formatted PC. Guess in the future I will switch to online backups like most of people...incase I will find urge to create something again.. :/.

I used to own an ANU..I mean ASUS!
I got stolen also, and my very first properly working TDM script was on there, it was to become a server the day after.
Also alot of maps that I was wanting to release were on there, all gone..
I personally didn't really care though, but it is still very dissapointing.

Insurance
Dropbox
Memory sticks
Mobile phone(s)

Losing your laptop isn't really a big deal as long as those 4 items are things you have.

OT: get a Kingston lock thing, I use one all the times when staying with friends and in public places.
