Fix NPC movement!
#1

This is the 5th thread, from 0.3d to 0.3e asking for a final fix.

Using kittens ******* clip to demonstrate the difficulties we're having with NPC's:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnUJUGRbV60[/ame]

  • Poor movement if forcing movement with SetPlayerPos and MoveObject.
  • Takes like 1 second for it to move to the next position.
This bug strike at 0.3b and up. 0.3a seemed to work FINE, correct me if I'm wrong.

We want to build something great with NPC's, please fix it.

Please inform me if you are going to delete this thread.

NPCs are a pretty big part of SA-MP but at the moment they are very limited which makes them kinda useless.

Let's see what the future brings us!

could be*

NPCs can indeed be a little bit buggy, and it would also be nice to see a lot more features for them (and easier communication).

After this fix it would be nice if they atleast detect the cars that cross them, ias they dont atleast make them 'know the map' like the actual GTA, to make it like the NPC's IG it isnt really that hard so I dont fully undertsand why SAMP made recorded NPC's..

I'm going to make a script that will give a lot more control that won't use the setpos method. I'm sure it will significantly increase the smoothness.

It's slightly more complicated, I made a proof of concept video somewhere on my xfire page.

EDIT: here, http://beta.xfire.com/videos/15859d
Although that is just a modification of a pre-existing recording, I've proven that it's possible to literally make your own recording through native file functions. If you make your own recording, you can then move the file from scriptfiles to NPC Recordings using a file plugin.
