Can't install SA-MP 0.3c R3 (Detailed explanation)
#1

I just bought GTA San Andreas Version 1 (Moddable one, works with samp etc.) and I downloaded the latest SAMP installer and proceeded to install.

The problem I got was, I couldn't PRESS the "Install" button, it was grayed and clicking it did nothing. I selected the right path, "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas" which is where I installed it and it let me press "ok" after selecting that path in "Browse" but I could not press install.

If you think I'm an idiot who has not install San Andreas or has chosen the wrong path, look:

I also ran the GTA_SA.exe singleplayer to see if it worked and it did, perfectly, I even changed some settings to create a .set file, but still, no luck.

And if you think the name of the .exe file is the problem, i renamed it to "gta_sa" with no luck, and then "gta_sa.exe"
and the problem still occurs.

Any suggestions?

oh and I tried moving the directory and then installing but it did not work.

edit again: I should also add that if you look at my username I've been here over a year, and I've been using SAMP for over 2 years and I have never, ever had this problem in the past.

Are you sure it's version 1.0/1.1? Use the downgrader patch anyway.

I ran the patch and it didn't work (because it does not need patching)

try to instal it in a empty folder and after the installation, put everyting in your GTASA folder. (reason: you don't have the rights do instal in that folder) Or try to open the installer als 'run as administator'

Uninstall GTA and then install it again into a different path. Something like C:\Program Files\GTA San Andreas

Math: I've tried that and it wont let me press install, nothing lets me press install

Dave: No shit did you even see the pictures? That shit isn't working.

Real: I've stated above that i've moved the installation of GTA many times and it has not helped.

I appreciate you trying to help but please read the full topic.

if someone could install all the SAMP contents into a folder and then give me a download link for that folder, that would allow me to copy all the contents into my directory and 'Wallah!' problem solved. Please?

Rename the GTA San Andreas file to gta_sa and it'll work. I am sure

Edit: in the /Rockstar Games/GTA San Andreas folder, ofc.

Those programs were searching for the exe file named gta_sa.exe, not GTA San Andreas.exe
Don't rename your .exe files, that's a stupid thing.
