yes i will try but im preety new as well what you do is go to this site http://www.portforward.com.
pick which one is your modem go up to your modem and read it and then port forward yes

If you don't have a router, you don't need to portforward at all ..
Just make sure that incomming and outgoing connections go trough your computers firewall.
