Is there an way to set map icon so you can see it even when you are not close to it? I mean like in SP when you have new mission the icon appears on map and you follow it... I have seen the function from SP and there is function to do this, but is there an way to do this by scripting? I'm not asking any codes just some tips how to do it and is it even possible?

Yes, quickly teleport player to place where icon is located and then teleport back (this is workaround, not solution)
