Technically, you're not allowed to do that.

No, you can't change your forum name unless there are exceptional (I believe) circumstances.

Same few steps to change the nicknames,so what's the point of removing an account if you can change nickname ?

Changing name takes time and there are just too many name change requests to handle so they just choose to refuse to give this kind of "help",same goes with removing accounts,you spend your time reading those requests and deleting their account ...
