Does anyone know a good, realistic weapon name generator?
One that generates a name like (just an example, idk if it is a real gun): K1411 or I-803 or something like that. A lot of them out there just generate one that is just a combination of weapon-related words or something.
This is for a game, and I don't need copyright issues on me. It's going to be a mobile game, for phones.
Thanks.

I'm sure using real gun names won't be a problem, just make sure they are all something everyone knows.

I think things like ACOG and CCO are actually copyrighted, using standard weapon names should be perfectly fine I'm guessing.

Scroll down past the clothing and misc items, you'll find a whole load of weapon names. If you have any doubts about them just replace the actual name like "Katiba ACO" with K-ACO.

Most weapon names are used as trademarks, but M16, M416 are so common that I doubt you'll run into any issues. However big games like Battlefield pay top dollar to use those names, especially if they add H&K (Heckler & Koch the manafacturer) infront of it.
As for your question, what makes a realistic weapon name? Given you don't want to use real names, how can you go wrong?

Do it like other games that don't want to use real names and get in trouble.
For example APB got a rocketlauncher called OSMAW instead of SMAW <- Pretty obvious actually, but well.
Just change them a little.

Okay, thanks people. It's just that I'm not good at coming up with names, but I'll try.
