How much are you happy to pay for SA-MP hosting, if it didn't include extra features such as hosted listings, excessive MySQL databases or free web hosting?

Considering SA-MP takes so little resources to run (look at free hosting sites like sa-mp.gs), and DDoS protection, bandwidth and hardware costing a lot less than a few years back - most of the current hosts seem to be charging too much for what you actually get. You could even go and buy a cheap $10 a year VPS that will happily run 50 slots on a well optimized gamemode with little downtime!

As most servers don't use all purchased slots, wouldn't it be better to charge depending on RAM/CPU/Network usage and allow for the customer to set their own amount of slots?

Vps + game-mp account = A perfect relation ! (DDOS protection for security purposes and to reduce downtime due to attacks )
These days everybody needs money and sa-mp is filled with KIDS , they simply love to Ruin there dad's Credit cards !
dotvps.co is providing a 512 mb vps for 4 $ .....
so , its around 48 $ per year !
where as the samp host providers , these days charge around 10 $ for 100 slots .... so around 120 $ / year .

I'd pay about $10-15 for a SA-MP host with around ~100 slots, because that's all I would need for a server. But nowadays, I'd just use a VPS since I've had experience with them for years and they're fairly easy to me.

I just don't like the fact that VPS servers are very overrated @ SA-MP. I mean, this "VPS craze" has suddenly started up and now everybody is racing to get one. These things are not the solution to everything; you can only run a server with so many slots and then your server will drastically slow down. Think of it as your own computer, the more things you keep running, the slower the performance.

A 512 MB VPS isn't going to run a full blown 200 slot SA-MP server and a Teamspeak server with 100 slots. There are hosts made specifically for these services; use them. You would probably need to spend $30-40 on a VPS that has the capability of running 400+ slots and multiple services, or a dedicated server (which is basically like renting out a whole physical computer - totally different from a VPS, which is a virtual server).

Nothing, there is simply no reason to start a server if there are hundreds of servers which are almost same

Everything else is too overpriced for the little work it is for the hoster to keep the server running. And I wouldnt support any hoster trying to get horrendous profit from poor children.

okay yeah it was stupid. but still the price of it is kinda silly for the price u pay and get no players really just throwing money away.
