How can a VPS be not secure? It's all about how you set it up that makes it secure. If you mean protection against DDoS attacks? That'd be impossible and anything that comes close to it is very expensive.

I mean security attacks. VPS companies (almost all of them) does not provide protection against DDoS attacks.

You won't be effected by DDoS attacks on other servers as much, and your host might be more pro-active about it.

People like burst.net and apparently OVH do DDoS protection, but you should be thinking about a dedi if attacks are a problem
