Right.
Obviously, as has been pointed out several times by various members of the SA-MP team, there will be absolutely no way that the actual SA-MP server/client will stray from it's original intention, to be a ,,multiplayer implementation of San Andreas''.
This would most certainly count out the idea that SA-MP would adopt any possible custom client scripts / models / maps etc.
I have actually halfbuilt a download client that builds datafiles based on input received from a download server I scripted a few weeks back. This client will also move the actual gamefiles out of their respected directories into a backup dir, replacing them with the new patched versions. This would basically permit a serverowner to run a MTA style server in which the owner of said server dictates the experience any individual connecting to that gamemode would enjoy.
Obviously there are some limitations and ethical dilemmas, such as:
-It would require the client to, of their own free will, install the software.
-It carries a massive potential for abuse (viruses, accidental infections etc.)
-It would begin the journey of seperating SA-MP from simply extending the functionality of GTA:SA, to becoming a game engine in its own right.
What are your thoughts on this? I'm actually very much for it. The potential benefits from custom clientsided scripting are MASSIVE, especially for those 2million RP servers out there xd.
(I'm not sure if this sort of plugin is even allowed, so if I've broken any rules by suggesting it I apologize in advance)
