Parts compatibility
#1

Hi there! Thanks for reading this.

Today I'm going to buy a new computer. (I'll build it myself)
Will the following computer parts fit together?

- AMD Athlon II x2 3.2 GHz, AM3 socket, L2 2MB cache
- Mobo: Asus, AM3+, microatx/atx, DIMM DDR3 SDRAM (1333 MHz) 240 pin, sata 300, PCIe 2.0 x16, 4 pin CPU power, 24 pin main power
- Sony DVD Burner, sata 300
- Fortron Source 500watt power supply, ATX
- A-Data 4GB ram, ddr3, 1333 MHz, 240 pin, 1.5volt
- Case:: cooler master, midi tower, ATX, micro atx, 7 expansion slots (back side), 6x 3.5", 4x 5.25"
- GPU: sapphire HD6790, 1GB GDDR5, PCIe 2.1 x15

It would be really great if someone could tell me.

Thanks and have a nice day,

Jantjuh

Oh, and I am really sorry for the bad way I typed it ;(

I really suggest you make this thread here.

They helped me when I wanted to make my build, and they told me what was compatible, what was the cheapest & best performance for my activities, and cheaper price.

You should check up your prices on eBuyer too, it's free UK delivery, and the prices are the cheapest I have ever found for PC components.

Good luck!

Check your MoBo and see if that processor is compatible with it.

Yep, it is. The page of the mobo says: Sempron, Athlon II, Phenom II

Yes, your build will work. You just need to make sure that the processor socket fits the matching motherboard, video card has enough power from PSU. (and that everything will fit in the case form-factor)

Exactly what ******. Warnings are all over PC overclocking/building forums about how the PSU is really important not to go cheap with.

Here is a well-known, well-respected brand for PSU's, you will not have a problem with it. (Ј46)

Goodluck with your build and I hope you made a thread in the eBuyer forums as they will help you alot and get you an even better build for a cheaper price.

Thank you both for the information!
The PSU is a Fortron Source Fsp500-60Apn. It is 39 euros which is 51 dollar.
I've been using the same PSU for another computer which has pretty much the same specs.
I'm now using this PSU for about 6 months and I never had any problems with it.

I just bought all the parts which are in this topic. If the PSU can't handle the hardware, I can send it back and get my money back!

Whats the wattage?

Also, they have good PSUs upwards of 600w for less than 100 dollars on NewEgg, you should check around more and possibly change your setup.

It is 500watt. The problem is, I already bought the parts :$ But I'm pretty sure it will all work well.

AM3+ is for new AMD processors which will use the Bulldozer microarchitecture. An AM3 CPU will fit on an AM3+
