Ok, im going to be doing some work on transfering hosting to a new domain, and i have a few questions, before i go screwing everything up.

Changing Domain
I will getting myself a new domain very soon, and im going to transfer my current hosting package to it - here's where it gets tricky. I have a SMF Forum installed on the hosting, and i don't want to break that. What will i have to do to make the forum work on my NEW domain? (i will be moving it to a different subdomain/folder)

Do you have Cpanel?
Does your Cpanel have Softaulous (Something Like That)

No, but i think i found out a solution.

After i buy my new domain, i should be able to go into the SMF admin, go into 'databases and paths', and just change all the directorys. Will this do it? Will i have to update my smf database in anyway?

Yes thats what you do, and you have to change the sql login info if your other hosting expires.

but there is an easyier way.


Download the SMF backup and install a fresh SMF on your new domain, load the backup on your new smf, and you're finished
