Now in your favourites if you have watched them they have a white tint and say "watched" on them.

I think it's how it works internally. It probally keeps track of the things you watched either via cookies or a database, and just has the clip along with if you watched it or not. It doesen't matter in which category you're looking whether that be favourites, watch later, subscribers or recommended video it just shows you if you watched it or not.

I think you are talking about the small box on the homepage. I'm talking about the new method where it tints the video preview which is really annoying.

Yeah but, maybe this is how ******* has been working and now they even show how it works by putting that watched icon. People forget sometimes what song the listened for example.
