CUSTOM.img and CUSTOM.ide aren't working
#1

NOTICE: SOLVED

Hello there,

I just managed to find cool skins from the Assassin's Creed series. They doesn't seem to work.
This is my CUSTOM.ide:
Quote:

200, aoa, aoa, 0, 0
201, brutus, brutus, 0, 0
202, desmond, desmond, 0, 0
203, drachen, drachen, 0, 0
204, normal1, normal1, 0, 0
205, normal2, normal2, 0, 0
206, normal3, normal3, 0, 0
207, normal4, normal4, 0, 0
208, offduty, offduty, 0, 0
209, start1, start1, 0, 0
210, start2, start2, 0, 0
211, start3, start3, 0, 0
212, start4, start4, 0, 0

So skins 200-212 should be replaced, but it didn't work. The files are also in CUSTOM.img (added and rebuild). I also tried to add the files to the SAMP.img, but also that refused to work too. I do know that the view distance is 0, but this worked for me before (Before the update to RC5).
Has anyone got a clue why this is happening, and does anyone know a solution?

EDIT: Just tested by editting the gta3.img : The files aren't corrupted

Thanks in adance,
Kevin

Bump.
I could've said something else, instead of "Bump.". Only the "Bump." is kinda standard/boring.

To just replace original models you do not need to edit the CUSTOM.idea at all, but the model files in .img need to have this same name as the skins that you want to replace.

Open custom.img with IMG Tool and just add textures(.txd) and models(.dff). When you did that click Rebuild Archive and you are done.

I'll check that out when I have the time for it (asap). But there is one more thing that is strange: I did extract swat.dff and swat.txd from gta3.img (that swat skin), renamed them to cxname.dff and cxname.txd, placed them in custom.img and this in custom.ide:
Code:
200, cxname, cxname, 0, 0
That worked . I'll test it ASAP and will post futher details then. Thanks for your replies

Sirencely,
Kevin

p.s.
@Inteso: Yes, I know how that works . I have done that already, please read more carefully next time:

Than there is other problem because there is no needed to add skin models/textures in any .ide file. Make sure new models and textures have names of skins wich are in gta3.img.

EDIT: Browse my threads and find tutorial which I made 'How to add and edit SA-MP Skins', skip editing part and see where I was adding them to custom.img.

I'll try that now, but the point is that my way worked before. That's why I don't understand why it's not working now. However I am now renaming files. I'll edit this post ASAP.

EDIT: Yes it is working. Thanks Dugi and Inteso.
