Hello there, i have done extreme udp port research for the udp port forwarding issue on the belkin router, and found a VERY BIG BUG in the firmware. No joke, looke here:

[EDIT] Aw sorry, the cbt=7777 (wireshark users know this...)

Symptome: Every time an UDP packet sent to a port, the UDP packet in sequence will be delivered/forwarded with the +1 port number.

Example:
Client: 10.10.10.10:3000 -> 10.10.10.11:4000
Server: 10.10.10.11:4000 -> 10.10.10.10:3000
Client: 10.10.10.10:3000 -> 10.10.10.11:4000
Here comes the twist
Server: 10.10.10.11:4001 -> 10.10.10.10:3000

THIS IS A FIRMWARE BUG!!! Not a miracle, not an end user human error.

Belkin versions in affect (known by me from other posts)
F5D8230
F5D8231
F5D8232
F5D8233v4 (my router)
... No excuse from Belkin on this. Make it good!

Ok, here are the news:
Belkin received my note about the issue, and try to sort out what could be the problem on these routers, please do not submit questions to Belkin about the issue. When Belkin will have a solution on the BUG in the routers, i will send the result here.

Well, I happen to have a F5D8233-4v3(01) and I don't seem to have any problems at all?
People can connect to my home server just fine.

Hello Vince,

Could you please send me the firmware version that you are using?
Mine is "3.01.29 (Aug 15 2008 18:24:3"

And if we are here, i have set up a test server, the routing is ok, UDP 7777
Could someone please try the connection to the server, and if someone it pro could cap some packets for me to help Belkin solve this issue?

Big thanks

Vince,

It's ok that you can see the server, but please if you could, try to connect to the server, i do not require you to register or anything, just try to connect to it... It will not, or if it will, i wont for the secound time. The router resets the sequenced (or whatewer you may call) udp stream (i know it's connectionless) after about 15 minutes and it works fine, but at next time its dead.

Hello

I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this issue. I have had our engineers look into this and they have confirmed that it is an issue with the firmware but unfortunately because this router is discontinued there no fixes being released for it.

Should you have any further questions, please take a moment to review our Knowledge Base at http://belkin.com/support or let us know.

Thank you,

Well this is it... We will not have an update on this router. So forget about getting the SA-MP running behind a Belkin.
