My Registry Editor would not run anymore

I looked up solutions in ****** but the problems has to do with corrupted registries but mine is different. I cannot run the Registry Editor on Windows 8.1 64 Bit. I double-click it and it would not open anything.

I did /sfc scannow but it didn't report any error . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 if regedit.exe is actually there. If it's not there it might have been deleted somehow and you may need to copy it from the installation media.

It is there and I double-click but nothing happens.

Try going to Run > cmd.exe > and type in "regedit".
