What's up!

If you guys can remember, few months ago I made this thread asking about the PC parts that I should purchase, and I actually did follow most of the instructions I was given regarding the parts and I built a perfect PC, thanks to everyone who helped me. Well.

Right now my PC is pretty good to be honest, I can pretty much run most of the games on Ultra settings without a problem. But.. I decided to upgrade it to be even better, why not?

What do I want to add/upgrade?

Problem is, I was told that in order to run the GTX 970, I'll need alot of horse power and stuff like that that I seriously have no clue what it means. So I decided to come over to the experts

What do you guys suggest to add/remove or get in order to be able to add those upgrade to my PC?

You don't need 1000w. I have a Corsair 750w PSU with an OC i7-4790k @4.6Ghz and a ASUS GTX 970 STRIX which is also factory OC'd. I could run SLI 970's and still have enough power left for more things, the new 900 series GPU's are incredibly efficient.

8GB of RAM is enough for gaming, I currently have 24gb of Kingston 1866mhz HyperX Fury, but it's purely for looks. Also; if you're ever planning to OC that CPU, I'd suggest a CPU cooler.

So I only need cooling if I wanna upgrade/OC my CPU, correct?

Im running a Glaciatech cpu cooler and it wont go above 48 degrees C, 3.6ghz 4core 100% load on each core.

Only get the 1000W if you going to use many graphics cards at ones & if you going to keep upgrading for now i would get the 650W it's not over kill 1000W is just to much for the specs you want.

Am using this at the moment Cooling system and everything seems to stay around 30*C with it not had a single issue so if you want a cooling system here you go LINK Just a tip as well depending on the PC Case make sure you check around it and see if that can fit anywere.

Cooling system is really need if you want to upgrade & play better High Stand games like GTA V when that comes out for the PC.

I would also add abit more ram 8:00GB Gets filled within games.

In short, more "horsepower" in terms of what you're talking there would mean a better processor most likely.

The point of gtx 970 is that it has really low power consumption for a high end card.

Get an ssd and for a cooler go with hyper 212 s/evo

The stock cooler that comes with a CPU is adequate if you don't overclock (would be silly if it wasn't, wouldn't it?). However, the stock cooler usually comes with only a small heatsink and a small fan, which means high fan RPM and thus more noise. An integrated water cooling solution would probably be the easiest way to get enough cooling. Something like the Corsair H100i, provided that you can fit it in your case, of course.

ASSERTION: People who need to ask about adequate hardware parts arent that confident with hardware in general. And installing a water cooling solution is rather difficult. Cheap water coolings arent any better than common air coolings, but much more complicated to install. So I would rather suggest a mid-range air cooling.
I absolutely agree with the rest you said, but my suggestion would be an Arctic Cooling i30, if you got problems with the temperature. Thats an air cooler that fits pretty much any needs, just heard good stuff about it yet. Should fit your socket, but better check if theres enough room on your motherboard, as the ram is blocking air coolers sometimes.
