Am I the only one that thinks like this..

Hey everyone! Let's talk about the following:

RP Servers that "REFUND" or give stats to get players
RP servers should attract players because of their unique script, staff and community, not for it giving you money away. Think about it, do you get money without even working in real life? NO. Besides, you are messing up the economy IG real bad, let's say that 10 players registered when you give them those stats, and then eventually you stop giving them, and prices stay the same. Those 10 players have now control over your economy.

"Serious Project is ready, needs host
Seriously? Well, perhaps there is 1/10 projects that actually can't get their own host. But anyway, that sounds like, well, at least to me, to "I did my GM, but I do not wish to pay for the host. You pay for it and I'll give you admin".
If the project is serious as stated, it should have everything set up already, but oh well, that's just imo.

Do you guys think the same? Also add some more instances similar to this one.

I think this is probably exactly how everyone feels.

I agree but welcome to reality. You're a medium/heavy role-player I assume. Most people actually are light role-players by looking at the server list. Not to advertise any server but some server names might be found in this post, you have been advised (Cops intro song begins here). Just kidding. However, many players are light role-players. Take NG:RP as an example, it's basically more RPG than RP. Is that a bad thing? Nah' I'm happy for that NG:RP have lots of players, they might have deserved it. However NG:RP is even bigger than LS-RP. Before you say anything, yes LS-RP is not the perfect place and we've all been at the point where we just want to take a iron and hit it into the face of **** of LS-RP (sorry my rage is starting xD, jk once again). But to compere these two, I'd say there are therefore overall more light-roleplayers than medium/heavy role-players together because many people at even LS-RP are just medium and not even heavy. I took those two to compere because they are most known in my opinion.

If a server states "refund" it is most probably going to be a server that will end their running if they do not change their attitude. OR the server can actually become very popular but in light-roleplay terms and not heavy role-play terms.

Unique role-play server should indeed get more recognition and should have more players I agree, but then again I think it is because most players are just light role-players and nothing more. However I am not saying that the players agreeing to this or disagreeing to this thread or opinion are bad role-players. I have not referred to the term "bad role-players" at all as there is really nothing bad with being light role-player or heavy, just two different role-play categories.

@Hansrutger
yeah, that's why. It's not so much of a server problem, because, let's face it, both NG-RP and LS-RP are pretty nice scripts, but rather the community. Because of the lack of RP players, the servers have their "high rp user base" lowered.

Nice to see all of your opinions!

Personally, I believe that there are only a few decent servers online, plus there are some great servers in development right as we speak. Roleplay has always been this way, but I believe this "refunding" craze came to be in around 2009?

I rather join a server where you start off with nothing and work your way up, rather than joining one and getting everything served to you on a plate, or whatever else these servers "refund" these days.. What am I going to do with 1000 grams of virtual weed?

Exactly, and I'm from Uruguay lol (cause of the weed )

But @OT, it is really sad indeed. I'm working on a very unique Day Z apocaliptic RP style server to change this
