Voice server? Which one?
#1

So it's been a while since I ever hosted a Voice Server on one of my dedicated servers and I'm wondering what's everyone using at the moment? I used to use Ventrilo & Teamspeak but I remember them bringing in licenses etc so a host like me has to pay a fee for commercial use. Is it worth buying the licence or is there something better around nowadays?

What are your views on this?

Yeah I've used that before! Was kinda buggy when running it with games though when I used to play stuff like Counter-Strike n BF it used to crash the client with the overlay. Is that still the case? Or if it has ever been a problem with SA-MP at all? Never used it with SA-MP..

Yeah but you are renting from a company right? I am actually the host.. So I'm referring to the licensing of teamspeak rather than how good it is. The problem when you are the host of a TS server they implemented that a non commercial server could have for example "30" slots on a dynamic OR static ip address and you'll get a limited version of the server. I want to use this alongside my RP server and I'll need a few hundred slots on a voice server for it to be enough.

I never had problems with it in SAMP, though I can't compare with TS, because I've not used it.

Use teamspeak, it's the best voice communication software so far.

Mumble is okay. But teamspeak is recommended.
