Client is Windows based, and it will probably be Vista compatible, not sure. Windows plugin will be released. I just want to make sure Linux does good.
UPDATE: Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora and Windows Servers have been tested and show that they work without recompiling. Linux does work fully. Just checking memory usage then a beta test will be initiated.

As two plugins now came out of this idea i think its time to close this subject. I think its safe to say that the 30.000 views this thread reached is a good indicater that sounds in samp hold great interest in the community. Its my hope that the samp devs will keep this in mind when releasing future versions of samp, although the plugins made are great, nothing is better than features buildt into samp itself.
A feature such as being able to play all the sounds in the org. game sound banks would be a great improvement, there is already such an open source project called saat which could be buildt into samp.
Thanks for all comments and ideas that came out of this thread.
