I'm new to this, so forgive me if I sound "nooby".

I used to be into the GTA series, then sort of drifted away from it because I got into MP games and didn't really know about MP mods like SA-MP.

I don't own SA for PC, but I noticed the physical copy was required (?) to play. Is there any way I could do a digital copy from Best Buy or GameStop and be able to install SA-MP?

Also, what are the best servers for a sort of "clan wars" atmosphere? I pretty much just want to team up with a group of 8 or so players and go at it against another team around SA. Not really into Roleplay, so if anyone could help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to find GTASA in a online store (most likely it'd be rare to find one in a shop), I am not sure about GameStop or Best buy because they sound like an american store, also, there are many clans in SA-MP which you can join or you can just go on a TDM server like the S.W.A.T server or Counter-Strike serve

There are also Roleplay server, check some cool and new server at the "Server Advertisement".

They're American stores, but why would that matter? All I saw was that the SA copy that is purchased through Steam or Direct2Drive isn't compatible at all.

Are most of the people in the community from EU?

There's pretty much mainly American, EU, Spanish, and Russian.

You could also get a copy from the *cough* bay of pirates *cough*

Just make sure it's version 1.0, or if it's not, you can apply the downgrade patch.
