Hey guys, I have a question.
Is there any way for me to prevent or reduce the impact of a ddos attack on my dedicated server?
I am hosting at Leaseweb, their only solution is for me to nullroute and wait. That would be good for a website, but not for a game server, couse i will lose players, fast.
Any suggestions what should I do ?

Sit back, get some popcorn and watch a movie, there's no way you can stop them. You could try changing the IP and Port address of the server but I doubt it will change anything.

Most likely they will not stop if there that determined to take you down.
Wish you the best of luck, best you can do right now is wait.

Search before you post- this topic came up over 100 times in April. I don't want to see 100 new threads about it this month. Holy hell.
People who know nothing about the Internet and the attacks they are susceptible to should NOT run a gaming/web-server.

-Setup Iptables
-Buy a software firewall
-Buy a hardware firewall
Simple options that would help mitigate a DDoS attack!
