Recently Volt Host has been going through major DDoS, causing the servers to either lag majorly or crash regularly.
United States Roleplay has been running Volt Host for quite a while, now it's enough.
The United States Roleplay server was down for around 24 hours due to Volt Host being DDoS'ed.
The administration contacted Volt Host regarding the problem, however they claimed it to be USRP that was being DDoS'ed. United States Roleplay haven't been DDoS'ed since way back, that changed when they started using Volt Host.
As a major hosting company, they have to be able to actually provide the services they claim to be able to provide, now it was clearly shown that Volt Host is unable to do such a thing.
Now this isn't the first time United States Roleplay had problems with Volt Host. The first time they left, they left because of an FTP problem that was using 100% CPU Usage which would crash the server numerous times, and during all this, the administration were completely unable to use the FTP or even access the Controlpanel because when that happened, their controlpanel was inacessive also.
USRP switched to Delux Host, they had terrible customer-service but the server didnt once crash hostwise.
We switched back to Volt Host again, and had the server down for three days due to a File Read error. We moved to JiHost which has been the best host we've had throughout our time in running United States Roleplay. Although we moved back to Volt Host because of a host-rangeban on a few of our members. Within six hours of moving back to Volt Host, after an IP-change (that ended up getting null-routed), the server was down for an approximate 24 hours due to DDoS on the host.
We contacted JiHost about the rangeban issue and they found a way to fix it after a while, we moved back to JiHost and since putting the server back online since 7PM last night (GMT-5), we have NOT been DDoS'ed, yet Volt Host is still being DDoS'ed.
The administration of United States Roleplay asked for a moneyrefund since the services provided by Volt Host wasn't what they promised it to be. In return however, Volt Host suspended the USRP account.
If your administrating a major community, you don't want a hosting company that cannot provide the services they promise. Hence why me, and alot of other players say, no thanks to Volt Host.
