Damaged game textures
#1

Hi there, im facing a annoying bug / glitch / w.e at the moment, my game textures appear f*cked up / damaged in some areas, i have all my drivers up to date, ive tried playing with a diferent resolution and in windowed mode, this bug still persists, also tried to run sa on a clean install without mods and still nothing changed ( you can spare me the uninstall your mods talk).

I really don't know what might be causing this, but i really need a solution for this.

Hope anyone can help me out, thanks.

I know I keep saying your PC/GPU is not overheating but.. eh what can I say.

My old PC, the BSODer, always got this when it overheated, but I really don't think that's your problem..
Seeing as I get this too, and I also get the flashy textures.

Have your updated DirectX?
Changing Anti-Aliasing
Changing DD?
Also try rebuilding your GTA3.img archive seeing as it looks like it's picking the wrong textures? :S

What is your graphics card?

If you're looking into a new one, get a Nvidia Geforce 9800GT with 1GB VRAM, It's good for older games such as GTA SA and FSX, a cheaper alternative is the Nvidia Geforce 8800, Overclock that and it will be as good as a 9800GT.

my 9800GT was Ј100 I think, I installed it myself, It's quite expensive, but It's pretty good.

ALSO keep in mind a GFX Card CAN act a bit like a motherboard, if you overheat it, or give it too much stress that it can't handle, you run the risk of frying it, That's why you should always be carefull of what you run on it.
and how long have you had that card?

(Sorry for double post)

I looked up your GPU from the model you sent me over MSN, one thing that worries me is 512MB GDDR3.

It's not bad, I don't see anything that would stop GTA SA from working, but it MAY be a bit low, I have no experience with ATI Cards.

Maybe someone else can help you on ATI?

ATI X1950 PRO Sapphire

Also- One more thing

How much RAM do you have and your OS?
It could be a memory problem, seeing as it looks like your PC is having a hard time placing the textures in the right place.

Another thing, I don't have alot of experience with Anti-Aliasing, But I found this on your cards spec.

2x/4x/6x Anti-Aliasing mode

What is your AA ingame? try x2.

When I use AA x3, My GTASA sometimes locks-up.

Ah, may be a problem, W7 and Vista I heard use more RAM than XP, Have you tried a downgrade? XP 32-bit.
I know it's a huge downgrade, but I heard vista and W7 have compatibility problems with some games.
May be worth a try?
